Christmas gifts!

Christmas is now over. My little baby was able to recieve lots of gifts from relative and his godparents. Of course I did not resist taking pictures. Please allow me to share with you photos of baby Ike posing in front of his gifts and him opening his gifts.(Actually him grabbing the wrapper to put on his mouth. hehehe)

This year I was not able to go Christmas shopping for gifts, so I decided to create acrylic layouts for my family. Here they are...

First Christmas Family Photo

Every year UP Los Baños puts up a life size belen near the UP Los Baños entrance. This year they made a life size belen made from acacia that was wood carved from uprooted tree from the milenyo typhoon. The belen was so wonderful that we decided to have our very first Christmas Family photo in front of it.

Auntie Lina's Christmas Village.

Every year would we would visit Aunti Lina's home to look at her Christmas village. And she never fails to amaze us with her new addition to her collection.
When she started she only had a few pieces displayed near the wall. Now her Christmas village almost occupies the whole living room! This is the first time Ike will see this amazing display.

Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas cards

It has been a long time since I last posted on this blog. It is only now that I was able to find time to blog. I have been busy both in school and with baby Ike. Well early this month I was able to create 2 Christmas cards. One is for my baby in the SE card swap and the other was for my entry at the SE and PS joint Christmas party. Here is the card for my Christmas Card swap.

Here is my entry for the Chritmas card challenge. Luckily, I won. Thanks to Marian King! I loved the prizes! I will be posting pictures of it once I find the time to photograph it. heheheh.

Heads Up!

Baby Ike can now pull his head up! Its amazing to see how time flies so fast Baby Ike now 3 months old. He can now pull his head up, play with his toys and talk to us. He also smiles and giggles a lot. He also stares at objects and people around him. Just today he was able to roll over. Here are some pictures that we took of him.

My Creative Mess!

Here is a slide show of my Scrap space. It is located in an elevated area in our Living room. I share it with my husband who uses the computer often and with our pet cat Kulet who uses it as her nap area. At present since, I gave birth, I scrap in a moving table so I can scrap while looking after Baby Ike.

2 Birthdays and a Layout

So many things happened during the past 2 weeks. We celebrated 2 birthdays and I was able to make a layout or the Piggy Tales Challenge.

Super Lolo

Last October 28, 2007, we celebrated Lolo Apeng’s or Super Lolo to Baby Ike (that is how our children calls their great grand father) 97th birthday. Imagine 3 years more and he turns 100. We celebrated it in a resort here in Laguna.
Almost everyone in the family was there. Lolo’s colleagues in the San Miguel Bulacan water district were there too. Yes colleagues as in officemates! My grandfather even at that age still works as a volunteer at their local water district. He even serves as president. Our Lolo is still strong and witty. His memory is still excellent, even better than mine! Hahaha.... He can still walk on his own, answer trivia questions, edit official letters and still recognize all of his grand children even his great grand children. He is such a great and strong man!

I’m Thirty-one!

Last November 1, 2007, I turned 31 years old. We did not have any celebration, just the usual All Saint’s Day activities. This year I was not able to visit our grandparent’s grave in Bulacan because Baby Ike is too young to travel that far. We just went to my sister’s house and then visited our parents’ grave. This birthday is special to me because this is the first time I celebrated it as a mom.

Piggy Tales

I was able to create a new layout for Baby Ike. This time it featured his father looking over his. The picture is very special because it captured the emotions of my husband.

Please view my webshots.

Yesterday I have finally updated my webshots account. I uploaded my layouts there. Please do visit the site. Link is on the sidebar. Thank you!

I'm on Basic Grey Gallery!

Early this week I recieved an email from Basic Grey telling me that my layout was chosen to be posted on their gallery. This was the first time I tried to submit a layout to them and I'm glad they chose it. I'm very comfortable using Basic Grey papers mainly because of their distressed look, which is my style. Now I am more encouraged to use these products!

Here is the letter.

Congratulations, your layout has been selected to appear in our on-line
gallery at www.basicgrey.com! We appreciate your time and talent and
thank you for using BasicGrey papers and embellishments.

Sincerely,
The BasicGrey Team

Baby Ike can smile!

During the first month of Baby Ike it was hard for us to make him smile. In fact he never smiles unless he is asleep. Maybe angels are playing with him in his dreams. Then during the week of October 15-19 exactly after his christening and when he turned 2 months he smiled at us. He already communicates with his kus and aws. He responds to us. He now looks at us. We can see that his eyes are really expressive. Seeing him respond to us makes me really proud that I am his mother

Welcome to the Christian World

Last October 14, 2007, Baby Ike had his christening at St. Therese of the Child Parish Church.

A couple of my childhood friends, Chris and Eds, were ninangs.

The LB Scrapaholics were also ninangs. Reception followed after the ceremony at a resort in Asiaville, Bay, Laguna. Foods were flowing and there was also Lechon which was given as a gift by two of the ninongs. Boy, it was a fun and tiring day.

Despidida

Joanne, one of my scrapbooking friends, is leaving for Australia tomorrow. She is one of the greatest person I’ve ever know. Imagine how close I felt the first time we met? She immediately invited us to her home. She was the one who introduced us to the world of “acid-free”. She is truly miss congeniality.

Last month she finally visited us in Los Banos. She let us play with her new Fancy pants Stamps. Then for lunch we brought her to Kamayan sa Palaisdaan and fed her until she was really full. We really enjoyed that day.

Then last Saturday, we had a despidida party for her. Tear kept flowing throughout the program. We will truly miss her.

Another Week Ahead

Scrapfest is finally over! After waiting for so long. It was truly a fun and exciting day. As usual I enjoyed looking at the yummy goodies brought by the suppliers. I felt like a kid in a candy store again. And of course it was so hard to control myself to buy new stuff! It was a scrapable moment not only because of the scrapfest but because this was the first time I left my baby. It was so hard. I felt guilty leaving him. Well that is past now.

Another week is about to start and it would definitely be very hectic! I would be preparing for my son's baptism. It will coincide will my niece's first birthday party. I am so excited because this will be the first party organized for my son. hehehe (another scrapable moment) All of the LB Scrapahoics will be ninangs.Soon I will be posting pictures of the event.

My Greatest Man

Ever since I gave birth I've been discovering new things about my husband Gee. I've noticed that he has changed a lot. As I look at him holding our precious little boy I've seen how much he loves Baby Ike. The way he holds Ike when he is burping, the way he

talks to Ike,  everytime he takes care of our baby when it's my turn to sleep,
and the way he cradles Ike in his arms are all heart warming!

Footprints

This layout is very special to me. Why? Because it is the very first layout that I made for Baby Ike. It is a no picture layout. It was the last layout that I made for the Scrappin Moms Idol Challenge. The layout features the footprints of my son and also the name card that was on his crib. Inserted in the pocket is a miniture copy of his birth certificate. Someday my son will look at this layout and say wow mom my foot was so tiny.LOL!

Thanks!

Today I got eliminated from the scrappin moms idol challenge. It was a wonderful experience for me. I was surely challenged everyweek, but never felt pressured by it. I felt really good everytime I finished a challenge except for this last challenge. The challenge that got me eliminated. It was only this week that I felt the pressure. First I cannot decide on what item to use. (I was choosing between a Magic card that my husband gave me and the foot prints of my baby)
Second, I was already feeling guilty that the challenge was already
taking too much time from my baby.
Nevertheless I am still grateful that I got this far. To the scrappin moms thank you very much. And to the rest of the LB Scrapaholics who are still on the go... God bless to you. Remember our motto "All for one and one for all" meaning "Ang laban ng isa ay laban ng lahat, ang premiyo ng isa ay premiyo ng lahat." Laging hating magkapatid at walang lamangan.
Kaya dapat isa sa inyo ay manalo ha! (pressure) hehehehe.

P.S. Sayang nga lang ung discount sa scrapfest tickets. hehehehehe.

Meeting Baby Ike

The first time I held Baby Ike in my arms I got teary eyed. So this is how it feels. Ever since I was a teener I dreamed of this day. I felt that I will not be complete if I will not become a mother. I already imagined that I will cry the moment I see my baby. The dream came true last August 18, 2007, the birthday of our baby.

He has arrived!

He is so cute!

In the Womb

Six weeks to go before I give birth to my first child. Gee and I decided to name our baby Gilfred Pacifico, Baby Ike for short. Gilfred came from Gee's full name which is Gilfred Paul and Pacifico from my late father Pacifico C. Payawal. We decided to adopt my father's name because we learned that I was pregnant a month after my father died.

I have just finished my layout for Lasting Impressions' Scenic Route challenge. I used a 3D picture of Baby Ike. Isn't he cute?

My Son!

It's been 5 months since I last posted a blog. Well I've been busy creating my pregnancy album, not to mention making other LO's for some contests.

My tummy is already BIG! I can already feel our baby squirming inside of me. (And boy our baby can really move!)

Last June 11, I had a 3D ultrasound. We have confirmed the our baby is really a boy.

New Scrapbook to Make

Hi! Well last January 3, 2007 my home pregnancy test tested
POSITIVE!Wow, I was really happy about it. My husband was even
more excited than I am.He kept on repeating,
"Daddy n ko? Daddy n ako?" Well I guess we are really excited about it,
after all this will be our first child. I finally decided to have a baby after
2 years of marriageafter my father died last November 28, 2006.
I got really lonely because Iwas really used to having my father around.
Well after Dad died I decided to open a new door.

With a new baby coming, this means a new scrapbook to make.
I started to document my pregnancy already.
I kept my home pregnancy test and started taking pictures of my tummy.
My husband and I plans to take pictures of my tummy every month.
I hope that I will be able to find time to make this album.
