My New Scrap Area

Hey! I am so excited to tell you that I have a new scrap area courtesy of my dear sister-in-law Rita. They already moved to their newly built home with her very own scrap room and she has to dispose some of her stuff in her old scrap area. So I volunteered to take some of them. hehehe. I had to setup a new scrap area because my husband and the computer has already taken-over my old scrap space over a year ago(see the slide show my ctreative mess below). Here is a picture of my new scrap space:

SK @ 9 Marathon challege # 5

"MOJO" ... That was the clue for the latest challenge of Scrappin Kids. It was Ate Issa's turn to give us the challenge. And we were required to create a masculine layout but we should use flourishes on it. Since I have a son, I'm a bit comfortable with this challenge because I use flowers on my boy layouts most of the time.

Here is the layout that I created for this challenge:

SK @ 9 Marathon Challenge # 4

Finally I'm done with this challenge. This is the most difficult so far. We have to use at least 5 of these materials: Inks, stickles, embossing, watercolor, utee, paints or glimmer mist.
Here is my layout:

Well I used Ranger inks and brilliance (to distress the strips of paper and the painted frame and to stamp the word explore),

Pearl UTEE ( to add effect on the accent under the word family), Stickles (I used diamond stickles on the word family)

paint(on the frames)

and glimmer mist (on the brown cardstock):

SK @ 9 Marathon Challenge # 2

It is now time for the second challenge of the SK @ 9 Marathon.

I had a hard time thinking of a way to create a different matting for my photo. So what I did was, I asked myself what material will I use for my matting? I thought of ribbons and buttons because they are the most abundant materials that I have. From there I created my matting. Here is my layout:

How I made my matting:

I cut out several colors of ribbons. I glued the ribbons on a base cardstock so that it will hold together and that it will not be difficult for me to place the photo. After sticking the photo I bordered it with buttons. Sticking the ribbons one by one may be very tasking but it is all worth it.

Scrappin Kids @ 9 Marathon

The marathon has started and baby Ike is sick. I almost did not make it but I am not a quitter I woke up at 5 am just to do this layout. Thank God Ike has been cooperative.

Here is my first marathon layout:

Layout details:

Journaling:

Look at the picture closely...YES it is a plastic bag. This may not be your favorite outfit but I love the way it fitted you perfectly. You even posed for the camera like a PRO. Just comes to show that you can carry any outfit you wear.

Hey! Do you like the new look of my blog. Well, it's Christmas season already. I guess I got bored with the old look of my blog so I changed it a bit. I tried my hand on customizing my header. The digi kit is courtesy of My Shabby Princess . I loved the way it turned out. If only I can get a free Christmas digi kit somewhere. Maybe I can make a Christmas themed header.

Anyway, I would like to share with you my layouts for the Scrappinmoms Idol Contest:

Scrappinmoms Idol Grand Finale and Bazaar

Up to now I still have that Idol grand finale hangover. Congrats to my co LB Scrapaholic, Issa for being on the top 3 and of course to Cookie for winning the Idol crown! Yesterday, I went on a scrapbook shopping spree! Yipee...I enjoyed it a lot! I brought lots and lots of papers, a stamp, a couple of stamp pads, and some stickers. Here are my loot:

Daisy Bucket Papers:

This is a layout I made during the crop using the daisy bucket papers.I will try to give a detailed description on how I made this layout later. Let's just hpe my son dosn't wake-up in a few hours.

I fell in love with these Autumn Leaves Cute Boy world line. Fit for my son's layouts.

I also bought some sassafras papers it's from their new line. What I like about these papers are their die cut edges. I would love to strip it and layer it on my layouts.

My Dream Street Loot

Last month I accidentally bumped into Heather Bailey's Blog while blog hopping. I loved the colors on her fabrics. Its fresh look is so pleasing to the eyes. I was surprised to see that she had a scrapbooking line. I acquired some of her Autumn leaves product line in yesterday's scrapfest. It looked so yummy. It will be great in creating some altered items and my mini albums. I will still have to discover how to incorporate it in my son's layouts.

On the side note.

Finally it arrived! I purchased this Sizzlits Boxed brush font from my friend Zabeth. I've been eyeing this font for several days already but unfortunately it is already discontinued. Luckyly I got it first. This font is so versatile and its size is just enough. Not to large and not to small. I've been borrowing Ate Issa's boxed brush for several months now because I can even use it in my mini albums.

My 100% Boy Layout%:

Hey my son is still taking his nap. So, as promised, I would like to share with you how I made this layout.

First I cut the Daisy Bucket Playlist-Download paper. Then I cut some circles from the Party mix paper. I used foam tapes to attach these circles to create a 3d effect. Bottons were also used to help me create this 3d effect. By the way, used the Pink Paislee Office Linggo as my background paper. I am so fond of used grid line as my base.

I hand drew a car and cut it to create this die cut.

I would like to focus on the stamp that I used it's by Autumn leaves. I used one of the border stamp to frame the picture. I used the gold brilliance stamp pad.

To high light the frame further I filled the circles with my black zig pen.I loved how it turned out.

Ike is 1

It has been a long time since I posted here. I've been very bust taking care of Ike and joining scrapbook contests. Last August 18 Ike turned 1.
Wow! is it really been a year? Time passes by so quickly. Its seems to be just yesterday when I posted the news about my pregnancy. Ike has been a handful since his birthday. He is still learning to walk that is why we always keep an eye on him. He also has been exploring things around him. It's very tiring but I am enjoying every minute of it.

Just recently I joined the Bad Girls Kit Designer Challenge. Unfortunately I got eliminated in its 3rd round. Although my journey there has been short I still enjoyed every minute of it. It is still an honor to reach this stage. Over a hundred have joined this contest from around the world. The competion was really tough. The photo above is my enrty for the first round. Here are the rest of my layouts:
